Passementerie
by Robert Wade Photography
Passementarie is the art of making elaborate trimmings or edgings (French - passements) of applied braid, gold or silver cord, embroidery, colored silk, or beads for clothing or furnishings.
Turner Trimmings was established in London in 1899 by Brian Turner's grandfather. Moving out of London as rents increased to Essex, finally closing the cord and rope making factory in 2024.
Turner trimmings held a Royal warrent from Queen Elizabeth II and made the black ropes and post trimmings in the Mall for her funeral using a machine made in 1899.
