The Bauhaus is synonymous with 20th Century design and has influenced art and design education and products since its inception in 1919. It was closed by the Nazi government in 1933. Yet from those 15 years its lasting legacy is still being felt across all areas of architecture, product design, photography and art education across the world in the 21st Century.

The campus in Dessau is for many architects and designers simply the birthplace of modernism. The buildings and facilities have been restored or renovated to the original. Visitors can book a stay in the student accommodation block and eat in the cafeteria originally frequented by the famous tutors and students.
